Lorem ipsum for Ubuntu and Firefox

You have seen lorem ipsum dummy text. When you make a template for something and you need to see how will text look in that template it’s always good to use Lorem ipsum generator. Lorem ipsum is text was used to test typography by the typetesters and it’s still in use but in much easier way.

At the first sight it looks like it’s randomly generated text, but it is not. Text that you get is from latin literature, like the common first part: “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet” is from de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. You can type some sentances or words and repeat them but lorem ipsum dummy text is much better, it is much similar to normal text, has normal distribution of letters (for example a and i are letters that are used more then b and f) and it is just easy to generate it. You can select how many sentences or paragraphs you need and just click generate.

I will present you ubuntu app and firefox addon that generates these text. For ubuntu you will have some requestments for install. Simply download it and double click on the *.deb file, you can install requestments with synaptic. To run this app go to Applications> Other> Lorem Ipsum Generator.

After you restart Firefox you will be able to use this addon whenever you right click on some form. Here is an example how i used it on wordpress editor.
