Wordpress blogs are very good organized and it’s easy to use it. They are getting lot of traffic because of it’s structure, tags and categories. In order to get more traffic to your blog and have a higher page rank you need to do some stuff.
How is page rank calculated?
Page rank is unique for your every page. If you want to have more visitors to your blog, you need to have highest page rank on your home page. But first we need to know a little bit more about how page rank is calculated. Calculation of page rank is high priority secret in Google company, but there are many things we know about page rank calculation. Pages from other sites linking to our are most important for page rank increasing. It’s better to have high PR pages linking to your and smaller number of outgoing links. As you can see the number of outgoing links from pages is also included in calculation of page rank. Sometimes it’s better to have PR 3 site with 5 outgoing links linking to you then PR 6 site with 80 links. Also it is very important to have only few links on your home page because little part of page rank is transferred to the site you link and we want our home page to have highest page rank possible.
Is it good to exchange links with everyone?
Wordpress blogroll is good way to work on your pagerank. With blogroll you have link on every page of your wordpress blog. And also other blog you link with has links on every page. So it is a good source of traffic and a good way to increase page rank. But you need to be careful, if the blog you want to exchange links with has much minor page rank than yours than it’s not reasonable to exchange links with them and also if it has only a few post your blog will only lose from that exchange. And the worst possible scenario is if the blog you link with is not indexed than you page rank leaks.
Can i hide links?
In some posts we make it is not easy not to link with some other sites. It is not possible in some cases. You can prevent page rank leak if you sat no follow to the link on your page. Than the link will be visible to visitors and also to the search engines but you will not lose page rank. It is also good to change your wordpress theme and add nofollow to the links of your theme maker and to the links of some blog directory sites.

And if you want to add nofollow to all your links in your posts (including old posts) you can install Nofollow Links in Posts or if you use Wordpress 2.8 NoLiP.
What else can i do?
You can add wordpress plugin which links your post with similar posts existing in your blog. It’s always good to have links which are related with content.
If you know to code in php do some changes to wordpress and change the number of links but only at the home page. You can restrict some widgets and not let them show on the home page.
Don’t do copy/paste posts, sites that are not on google don’t exist. Google knows everything so you can’t hide it. Post as often as you can and write good post with retailing the keywords.
